i heart surprise visits

So, as many of you know, my mama surprised me Friday night. I was getting ready to have a dinner party with a few of my friends from school, and Mom texted me to see if there was enough for her. I thought she was kidding until she said she was crossing the GW! I was so excited, and I immediately went to scrub my bathtub (clean freak, ya know haha). Anyways, Mom helped me make dinner & Debbie, Sara, Steph & Steven came over. We had a great time visiting, and I was so happy that Mom got to meet my friends.

Did I mention that Mom brought an entire truck load of food & toiletries to last me until 2014? Mom, my grandmas, my Aunt Mel and cousin Ashlie all bought me food, shampoo, deodorant, etc. etc. and sent it with Mom since I am in the middle of a financial crisis (as most of you know...haha). I am so blessed.

Yesterday Mom and I didn't get up til 11am, sat around and drank coffee, then got ourselves together, went to Ikea to pick up some cereal bowls and things, went to the grocery for some fresh fruit, etc. (I also got a new addition to my family, her name is Ivy, she is an Ivy and is sitting in my front window looking perfectly adorable.) Then we found a PF CHANGS, which just happens to me Mom's favorite restaurant. It was DELICIOUS! Spring rolls, crispy honey chicken, chang's spicy chicken, and ginger ale. yum yum yum. Unfortunately, we had to drive around for over an hour to find a parking spot, and drive by a filming crew at least 30 times. I'm sure they thought we were crazy.

Today, we are going to go do laundry. Yay. Mom gets to experience an NYC laundromat. Then we are going to go find some pashmina scarves for her to take home to the girls. After that, we'll probably eat some delicious Thai food, and go shopping for trash cans. Mom thinks mine is too small. ;) Well - time to go put my mascara on & spend the day with my beautiful mama. ;)
